Compounding in general, cannot be safely and successfully conducted in pharmacies or anywhere without the creation of a proper “state of control,” This “state of control” – speaks to the compounder’s ability to control and demonstrate that the conditions that exist around the processes and medications that are being manipulated. The pharmacy profession is governed by your specific State Board of Pharmacy, State Department of Health, as well as federal agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration; the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services.
