Synopsis
As the pandemic continues to spread and pharmacists continue to work as an integral part of the healthcare team, we are looking forward to the approvals of several promising vaccines. No doubt pharmacists will be in the thick of the vaccination and distribution efforts to turn the tide of pandemic. In the meantime, we can do well to focus on what we can control, especially in terms of our service programs to our patients.
Compounding by pharmacists is of course one of the most important and unique services that we offer to our communities. As we all move into 2021, I would like to point out an area of focus that some of us take for granted. The identification, procurement, and proper storage of the bulk substances that we use to produce the safe and high-quality preparations we compound for our patients.
