Synopsis
We who compound on a daily basis are well aware that the USP has postponed the implementation of the compounding General Chapters and as a result of legal challenges filed1. This will delay but not derail the revision of these chapters. What this means for the average compounding pharmacist is that while we wait for the process to run its course, focus should be on first complying with the current official chapter, which is the current US standard, and then being aware of the current state of the revision process as it moves along. Especially for those of you who ship to patients in multiple jurisdictions (out of state) to assure that you are in fully compliance with that state’s current rules.
